    Carrier-locked Galaxy S21 FE gets April 2024 security update in USA

    Yesterday, Samsung released the April 2024 security patch to the international and carrier-locked variant for the US of the Galaxy S21 FE. Now, the company has started rolling out the same security update to the carrier-unlocked version of the smartphone for the US, which has the model number SM-G990U1.

    The new firmware for the Galaxy S21 FE carries version G990U1UESAFXD1, and the April 2024 security patch that it brings, fixes 45 security issues. At the moment, the update is live on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, Dish, MetroPCS, Nextech, Tracfone, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, Verizon. Xfinity Mobile.

    If you have a carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE in the US, your device should automatically notify you about the latest software update. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for the new firmware manually by heading to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get it from our database.

    Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE with Androud 12 (One UI 4.X) in 2022. Since then, it has offered two new versions of the OS to the device, Android 13 (One UI 5.X) and Android 14 (One UI 6.X). The company has promised to offer the phone three new versions of the OS. So, expect the brand to also offer Android 15 (One UI 7.X) to it.
