Description
pReader ist an eBook Reader for WebOS that is currently supporting plain-text, PalmDOC and eReader (without DRM) files. It is written entirely in Javascript and reads the files directly from the media partition. No conversion is necessary. Reading in landscape mode is fully supported as is basic customization of the text-size and appearance.
Since the application reads the PDB/TXT files directly off the media partition, just put the files on it, open the app, select "Add Book To Library", and select the file. The pReader will then add the file to its the internal library.
If you leave the application / select a new book, your reading position will be stored and will be returned to if you reopen the file.
The pReader now supports UTF-8 encoded files. Simply open your file, open the menu and change the encoding to UTF-8.
Caveat: The fonts installed on the Pre don't contain Unicode Glyphs for some languages, like Hebrew. If you want to read those languages, you will need to install a custom font on the Pre (into /usr/share/fonts), reboot the Pre and then select the Font name as a custom font in the pReader
v0.7.0
* Changed the backend storage from Mojo-Depot to SQLite. This resolves a lot of problems, ranging from crashes, over performance problems to complete loss of parts of your library. Unfortunately this means that pre-0.7.0 libraries can't be read anymore. You will lose them upon updating to 0.7.0.
* Implemented a new "linear" autoscrolling mode. It can be activated through the options menu.
* Implemented support for PalmDOC files that contain an HTML document.
* Implemented image support
* Many bugfixes to other parts of the app. Far too many to list them here.
v0.7.1
* Fixed problem with MobiPocket files not loading.
