Bedside 3.0 is due to be released this friday. It will include these new features:
* Silent Notifications, but now it includes SMS configurations, to bypass and allow SMS notifications for all, or whitelisted contacts.
* "Shortcuts", this will let you put dimmed shortcuts for: Light Switch (brightness/flahslight), alarm app, music app, and an extra app. You can set your own apps for the last 3, For example, on the Alarm icon I use klaxon, for the music, I use pandora, and for the extra one I use MusicSleep, very nice and seamless integration for when going to sleep.
* Auto-start & Auto-close, Bedside will autostart when connected to power, and exit itself when disconnected from the power. Of course, this feature can be disabled as well if you don't like it.
* Light Switch: This new light switch lets you change the brightness of the screen. When using the lighter style, it will also ignore the user set transparency (alpha), and change it to 100% so the text can be read clearly.
* A new "Style" sections in the preferences. Ability to choose your own color for the text and background, using RGB sliders for Red/Green/Blue (RGB) and also Alpha (Text Transparency). It includes 2 new extra fonts, ability to adjust screen brightness, ability to show/hide the notification bar when using the light switch, and more.
* "Scheduled Brightness": This feature will let you adjust the brightness automatically at certain times. You can set it to get dimmed after 7pm and bright after 8am. This is a very useful feature for people that sleep late, in the morning, you can't see the clock when the screen is so dimmed.
* Text-to-Speech using the 1.6 TTS Engine.
Old features: Battery Status, Keep Screen On, Date and Weekday, 12/24 Hours, Fonts, Flashlight.
I hope everyone like it. It will be a free upgrade to existing users and the price will stay at $1.49 for new users.
