[REVIEW] HTC Hero Has A Better TouchFlo

Well, HTC Hero is sure to be your perfect device! Since the Android has been in the nascent stage, a couple of all-important features were sorely missing.

    ADOBE-FLASH SUPPORT

Now, the HTC Hero is the first Android device to flaunt support for Adobe Flash Platform technology. This means that you can now view most of flash-based content on your device including media streaming minus third party apps and their million problems. Needless to say, this is a key partnership as Android teams up with Flash to provide rich web content (videos included) with a single flick.

    INNOVATIVE ‘SENSE UI’

Talk about the TouchFLO technology on a Windows Mobil interface and HTC scores an extra point there. The HTC Touch and HTC Touch Pro are standing examples of HTC’s innovative urge and need for simple functionality. Plus, the fully loaded applications and mind blowing animations add the much required jazz to the interface.

The Android as an operating system is ground breaking on its own accord but HTC’s effort to create a TouchFLO interface takes it to a higher platform. As a result, the ‘Sense UI’ has been conceived with a combination of trendy widgets, high-end animation and superb applications revolving around the TouchFLO interface.

    MULTI TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY

The HTC Dream and Magic failed to realize the power of a multi-touch screen display. Now, if you remember, Apple has quite a few patents in the multi-touch enabled touchscreen displays and Google sure wants to steer clear of another patent fracas. The Android on the HTC Hero has been modified rather heavily to support the features and doesn’t come with the ‘Google’ tag.

    TEFLON COATED OLEOPHOBIC SCREEN

We’re sure that your tryst with handset displays left you exasperated; thanks to the finger print smudges which threatened to mar the beauty of your handset. But, the HTC Hero sports a Teflon coating with an oleophobic screen. The oleophobic screen isn’t new to us as the new generation of Apple’s iPhone 3G flaunts it. But, all we know is that the HTC Hero surpasses the iPhone 3G in its quest for quality.

    FANTASTIC FEATURES

We’ve heard the drill a million times and well, the missing 3.5mm audio jack has been quite resented. But, as far as the HTC Hero goes, you’re sure to find the 3.5 mm audio jack thrown in as a pleasant surprise. And, the 5-megapixel camera is the icing on the cake! We’ve also spotted a G-Sensor, Bluetooth, an external USB port, SD card slot, GPS (with digital compass) and Wi-Fi to complete the picture.

There is HSPDA options with 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds apart from Quad band support. The Qualcomm MSM7200 528 MHz processor fires this device packing 288 MB of RAM. The 3.2-inch touchscreen with a superb resolution (320 x 480 pixels) exudes a stylish elegance.

The HTC Hero sure looks like a winner!
