You have to feel for Denver's J.R. Smith.
After all, Tyreke Evans(notes) has enjoyed a heck of a rookie year. He's averaging over 20 points per game, hitting from all over the court, and it was his clutch jumper that eventually won the game for his Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
But, still, you have to make sure the hot-shot guard's shots go in the hoop, instead of just brushing against the net, before taking the ball out of bounds.
Now, the Kings broadcasters even mentioned Denver's inability to stop Evans before he launched the shot, but if septuagenarian color man Jerry Reynolds can see that the shot is a "heat check" even before it falls short, what excuse does J.R. have?
On the plus side, we do have a new nickname for Smith. Mr. No-Depth Perception.
