Hotfix to enhance the security mechanism of Bluetooth service for HTC Touch Diamond/Touch Pro/Touch HD/Touch 3G/Touch Cruise/S740

This hotfix enhances the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth service to make the Bluetooth communication more secure.

Installation Instructions:


Note:

1. This hotfix can only be applied on Touch Diamond/Touch Pro/Touch HD/Touch 3G/Touch Cruise/S740 which has the FTP service preinstalled. Before installing, please first check to see if the FTP service is on your phone by tapping Settings > Communications > Settings > Bluetooth and verifying there is tab named FTP.
2. If there is a pop-up message saying “This hotfix is not compatible with your device,” it means the device has applied the fix already or device doesn’t have the BT FTP service and the phone does not need to install it.


Installation instructions

Follow the instructions below to download and install the hotfix on your device:

1. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista® PC. You can find Microsoft ActiveSync from this link or Windows Mobile Device Center from this link.
2. Connect and synchronize your device with your PC via Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center using the USB cable.
3. To download this hotfix select the hotfix below and the location closest to you then click Download.
4. Copy the hotfix, which is an .exe file, to your device. To install the hotfix, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you perform a device hard reset, you will need to reinstall the hotfix after the hard reset.

came across the on the htc site last wek sometime, and I can voiuch... personally, it has secured the connection b/w my device and bluetooth, thus improving the stability and sound quality bewtween the two... an new staple of fixes n tweaks to do first after flash or hard reset... at least for those hardcore bluetooth users...

works well in conjunction w/ this cab which is basically some updated/enhanced bluetooth drivers ripped leaked ms 6.5 rom...
