Does your pc have the latest version of .Net Compact Framework installed? From what I see that seems to be what is most probably causing that particular error.

Yeah I am fully up to date. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I keep getting this error. I guess I will try some more tonight when I get home from work. :(

Installed fine on my Vista machine after a couple of attempts.

All of the failed attempts were my fault... The directions are pretty explicit, but you have to make sure you're following the right set of directions. There's one set for XP and another for Vista/7. Trust me... following the XP directions on a Vista machine won't work. LOL.

For it to work for me, I had to disconnect the internet, so if anyone else tries this, I'd suggest doing that FIRST. There are several steps in the install & having to go back through and do it again is annoying. The one flaw in the directions is that it suggests turning the internet off before you install, but the suggestion comes at the END of the directions. LOL.


This looks to be a pretty advanced program. I've been using Ulead/Corel for the advanced stuff, so I'll be interested in seeing what this thing can do.

sony vegas is a great video editiong software but can be very confusing.... i will def recommend before using that you get all the extra addons othersise the program will take forever for you to do what you are attemting in the edit... great program, i found corel video studio 12 to be the best and it even has preset convesions for any resolutions ppc, iphone, and even the zunes and zunehd's..... of course through corel you can save in hd form in a few different resolutions and quality standards..... both are great products just found corel to be a better fir for me.

I see what you mean with the add-ons. It feels akin to getting into a nice comfy Cadillac only to find the stereo isn't installed, yet. LOL.

If/when I do use it, it'll probably just be to spruce up videos I've already produced with Corel with effects unique to Vegas (if there are any.)

you will for sure find some differences, corel and this are my two most utilized ones and for a reason... i find the pure editing better on corel to do since easier and quicker but i do a lot of my fades and transitions through sony vegas.... the weird thing is i dont really edit my youtube videos but i do edit others.... kind of weird i guess.

Most of what I do is kids' videos. I've done a few for my kids & some for other people's kids. I take video clips, audio clips, and pictures and combine them so that it's like a "Baby Genius" video, but with the kid's parents as hosts. Kids pay 1000 times as much attention to their parents on TV as they do their parents in person... and the baby genius videos suddenly seem boring.

So, while I don't NEED fancy editing software, it sure makes the finished product look nice... more for the parents than the kids.
