This app came with the Star 2.0 ROM and while I like it, no matter how many times I change the options to use the "full qwerty" keyboard whenever I open it, the "finger keyboard" keeps coming up. How the hell can I get it to work right?

IDK what sipchange is, did not see that anywhere. I used the options to select "full qwerty" I was just considering removing it and going with the "JBA MerdinH black keyboard" instead.

                Re: FingerKeyboard v21

No matter what you choose, the keyboard SIP is always selected after a soft reset. Doesn't this get to you after a while. Enter SIPChange , now you don’t have to select your favorite SIP each time you reboot.

SIPChange has two execution modes. If executed with no parameter, it
presents the list of SIPs available on your device and allows you to
select a default. Once set, this information is stored in the registry.
If executed with “SET” as the parameter it minimizes itself, reads the
default from the registry and waits 10 seconds. When the timeout
expires, it sets the Current SIP to your selected default and closes.

                How to use:

                1. Copy the attached CAB to your device

                2. Tap on the cab using file manager to install.

Now open SIPChange by tapping Start->Programs->SIPChange. You
will be presented with a list of your available SIP. Highlight the one
you want to become the default SIP. If you wish, you can change the
default delay as well. Now tap the “Select” button. The SIP will be
changed to your selection and SIPChange will close.

That’s it! The next time you (or your automatic nightly backup) resets
your device, the default SIP will be reset to your choice (best of all no need to tinker with the Registry).

                    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Soft Input Panel (also called SIP) is a special on screen input method for devices which do not have standard keyboards. SIP is commonly used in PocketPC and Tablet PC devices, where there is no room for keyboard. In Windows there is a similar on screen keyboard used as a Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) which also has an ability to change its layout according to current keyboard language and key layout. It was patented by Microsoft Corp in November 2004 under the patent no 6819315 [1].

This is the best touch screen keyboard w/o a doubt. I've been using it since it's inception... almost :) Very responsive, very clean looking, everything is easily accessible, plus one of my favorite features is the copy, cut, paste feature. I have a TP and utilize the hardware keyboard more than anything, but that (cut, copy, paste ) feature by itself is huge. The timing of the hold a key to get to the other character is quick, which means you can move along nicely. I couldn't see going back to any other touch screen keyboard after my experiences with FingerKeyboard. I use Black Gloss (skin) if needing to know. My few cents.
This is my opinion and not the stance or views of Smartphonejunkie... sorry had to say it, it came over me :)
